Greetings,
Well here we are, the final post of Six Angles 2011. This blog has been …

Greetings,

Well here we are, the final post of Six Angles 2011. This blog has been a truly good experience for all involved and I am so grateful to Emily Rose, Nawelle, Jonathan, Lauren, Benjamin, and Emily Elizabeth for taking part in this adventure with me. I am sure you will agree that this blog has not only showcased some stellar photography but it has also brightened each day, at least a little, and provided encouragement and inspiration artistically and spiritually.

Besides Six Angles, this year has been quite eventful for me.

The year began with the completion of my last photo blog, A Photo A Day, a tremendous amount of snow, and the time consuming task of getting this blog off of the ground.
The snow lasted through February with continuing work on this blog, two birthday’s, and my brother’s company dinner.
In March, I shot my first wedding for pay as the second shooter, a significant event as it I have since shot three other weddings.
April was a good month of “normal” life, with my first foray into traditional film and street photography providing an enjoyable change in my photography.
May brought the blessing of attending the wedding of my friends David & Nadia with my sisters, Karen and Abigail.
Ah June, beautiful weather, Schoeneck Community Days, hours of badminton with siblings and friends, four family birthdays, my parent’s anniversary, the birth of my new nephew, little John David, the wedding of my cousin, Jessica, photographing the wedding of my old friends, Dale & Anna, and my 21st birthday.
July brought summer in all it’s force, with a crazy work schedule, a great Fourth of July celebration, the wedding of my cousin, Katie, and quite possibly the most significant event of this year, becoming an active volunteer firefighter with Denver Fire Co. 1-3. That decision has not only significantly impacted my schedule but has also brought about the profound mental shift from civilian to emergency responder.
August, what a month, the overarching memory from that month is working on the short film, I Don’t Believe in Guns, with a great group of friends. It was my first film to be the director of photography on, and my first time to really push my cinematography.
September, water water everywhere! The combination of hurricane Irene followed closely by tropical storm Lee left this part of the country inundated with water and just about every basement in the area somewhere between soaking wet and 6 feet under water. I personally spent the better part of two days pumping basements with the fire company. Two of the of them were flooded right up to the basement ceiling so we had to pump them out with the engine. :) Also in September, I started taking my Fire Essentials course, we had our church picnic, and to wrap it up I shot the wedding of my friends, Gabriel & Tai .
October was dominated by fire training, I had two four hour classes on Monday and Wednesday and eight hours of training on Saturday add to that regular fire company training on Tuesdays and studying for class and that pretty much took care of my time. October also surprised us with a rare, early snowfall that, sadly, has not lead to a snowy winter.
November brought the successful completion of my Fire Essentials course, a slightly calmer life, a Thanksgiving celebration with my family, and finished with an unsuccessful opening day of deer season.
December was a pretty calm month, for me at least, working around the house, attending a friends play, shooting rifles, the usual. :)
And we come to January, shooting the wedding of my friends, and fellow church members, Daniel & Christiana, and everything that goes along with a wedding, and relatively “normal” life made up the month, with the engagement of my older sister, Karen, providing the perfect ending to the month.

And there you have it, a very brief overview of my year that only touches on the most notable public events of my life. And this doesn’t even touch on the different projects and things I did with my work or a large number of other events of note, so, no, I didn’t exactly sit around last year. :)

Thank you all so much for your support of this site and I hope to see you all back here in a few weeks!

God Bless,
~Josiah

My best friend, Ben, proposed to me in the beginning of August, we got married in November, and we’re expecting our first child sometime this September! Needless to say, this year has been quite a milestone for me.

It’s been such a joy and encouragement to watch how the Lord worked in our lives and the lives around us throughout this year. Never underestimate the power of God working through anything in your life. It could be your engagement story that touches someone, or simply the smile you gave to the lady at the grocery store. It’s amazing.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
{Matthew 5:16}

Being part of Six Angles has definitely been a challenge, but I’d say I needed it. There were definitely weeks that I wouldn’t have even taken a picture if it weren’t for Six Angles. And I’m thankful for the constant encouragement all of you followers have been! The critiques and compliments have been appreciated, for sure.

I’ll see you when we start back up!

This past year has been yet another incredible testimony to God’s unfailing grace in my life and that of my family. Mountains were climbed, family relationships were strengthened, siblings were married (well, one sibling), music was made, God’s creation was enjoyed, <a href="http://www.sixangles.com/07/21/he-will-carry-me/"trials were overcome, hobbies were picked up, work was accomplished, progress was made.

What a year this has been! It has taken some fascinating twists and turns along the way, and I have enjoyed watching the Lord work.

God has grown and stretched me in more ways than I ever thought possible, and I daresay that the past year has been one of the best of my life. My Good Shepherd has been faithful and gracious each step of the way, as He always is; I am so thankful for His merciful guidance and love.

Thou crownest the year with thy goodness;
And thy paths drop fatness.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness:
And the little hills rejoice on every side.
The pastures are clothed with flocks;
The valleys also are covered over with corn;
They shout for joy, they also sing

–Psalm 65:11-13

Many events have taken place in my life over the past twelve months, most of them small and enveloped in the goings on of day to day life. I have continued to stay busy working with my family in our business, learning about nourishing foods, blogging, and (of course) improving my photography skills when time allows.

Recently, I announced the upcoming publication of the eBook I have been working on, A Beginner’s Guide to Portrait Photography. Lord willing, it will be finished and available on February 15th!

To each of you who have left me notes and comments over the past year… thank you from the bottom of my heart! You have blessed and encouraged me more than you know, and I thank God for you. :)

Blessed be the name of the LORD
From this time forth and for evermore.

–Psalm 113:2

Thought I would take a stab at some studio lighting :)

What a joy and honor it has been to be a part of the Six Angles team and I look forward to another great year! In looking back on the past year, I continue to see God’s faithfulness and provision for myself and my family through the good and more difficult times. I’ve learned so much this past year, and the highlight, of greatest significance, was producing a film that my brother and I believed the Lord was calling us to make over a year ago. We joined forces with a new production company based out of California, who had a similar project idea, and together we tackled the topic of adoption in a 1 hour documentary. This film, which is now a semi-finalist in the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, was a profound experience to watch come together, and so much has been learned throughout production. I thank God for all that he has done for me and my family!

God Bless

Jonathan

My website is currently under a constructional update, which some of you may have already noticed by now. I plan to be posting more often on my new blog, with tutorial, pictures, and articles on the topic of photography! If you have any questions about photography, feel free to contact me through my website!

(click here to view the original self portrait taken one year ago)

This past year has been a full one, filled with great blessings and abundant growth. God has been faithful in all things and I have learned much. The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know… even in the “simple” things.

A recent highlight in our lives was the start of another business in our home – the Clementine Pattern Co. (What a delight it is to work together as a family!)

As I think back and look forward to the upcoming year, how thankful I am that the Lord’s mercies are new every morning! Great is His faithfulness!

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
‘therefore I will hope in Him.’

—Lamentations 3:22-24

It has been an honor and blessing to be a part of the Six Angles team — thank you, readers, for following our six journeys over the past twelve months. This week is the conclusion of the first year… we’ll be taking a short break after this week, but Lord willing we’ll be back soon.

Farewell for now! In the meantime you’re welcome to hop on over to my blog.

Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart is glad in Him.
because we trust in His holy name.
Let Your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in You.

Good Evening,

Well, here we are, one week away from the end of this one year blogging challenge. But do not fear, this bright spot in your day is only going away for short break. :) We plan to return in a month or so with a somewhat different team and possibly some other interesting changes.

This shot is of my father, William Einwechter, between takes as he thinks over his next statement during an interview that I helped shoot for an upcoming project on the Titanic.

For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.
{Psalm 139:13-14}

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
{Psalm 127:3-5}

Yes, we’re expecting!
