We spent today finishing up some final property improvement projects before winter sets in for good. One of these projects was the final step in the parable given below, yes, we spent a few years giving the tree an opportunity to redeem itself but, alas, nothing came of our efforts so today we tested out our new Swedish built chainsaw on it with excellent results. I am happy to report that the useless apple tree is now nothing more than a pile of firewood and chippings
He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
(Luk 13:6-9)

Awesome picture Jo!The chainsaw is a symbol of so many things, maniliness , rough and readyness(if thats even a word) and…….. noise to mention a few.
I LOVE CHAINSAWS!!! great picture. what are you doing with the wood?
wish I’d thought of this a second ago… you already said you were using the wood as firewood. It would be excellent for woodturning. those burls would be beautiful.
sorry to leave so many comments but the clock on your posts is 58 minutes and 30 seconds off.
OH, MARCUS! YOU would see the use of the wood in here for other than firewood! But I agree….you could make something very beautiful (for me–HAHAHAHA) with all those burls! -your mom.
Great picture, by the way!
Nice shot!
Thank you all! Agreed, Josiah, chainsaws are just awesome on so many levels. :)
The apple wood will probably be used primarily by my brother in his smoker. The smoke from apple wood imparts a unique flavor to meat.
