Spreading the Fragrance

But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

—2 Cor. 2:14

The honeysuckles are in full bloom . . .

For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

—2 Cor. 2:15-17

Their aroma that fills the air is a constant reminder of the sweet fragrance we are to be in this world and the living sacrifice we are to God.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

—Eph. 5:1-2

A God who can make the sweet smell of honeysuckle and was willing to suffer and shed His own blood for us, well putting things like that together makes me love and marvel at Him.
