Wow, what a week! Street Photography has turned out to be the most interesting, challenging, and flat out fun, at least for me, thing we have yet done on this blog. Not only was it a theme that allowed for a wide range of creative choices but it also forced us to actually walk up to a person, ask them a bit about themselves, and then quickly create an image that would capture who they are. I personally found roaming the streets of our local town, with my trusty AE-1, a very enjoyable and stretching experience that has not only made me a better photographer but has also showed me the benefits of opening up to other people and learning more about them.
About this picture:
I met this gentleman outside a thrift shop, in the nearby town of Ephrata. He and his wife were in town for their regular bargain sweep of the local thrift and discount food stores and, since bargain hunting is the special skill of his wife, he chose to take care of her beloved dogs.
If you click on the EXIF Data link I am afraid you will be disappointed. I took this picture with my Canon AE-1 35mm Film Camera using Kodak’s excellent T-MAX 100 B & W 35mm Film
which means, sadly, that there just isn’t any exif data to be had.
This verse really sums up the week:
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
(Heb 13:2)

This is a great photo! It’s priceless!! the wife shopping while the husband is watching her dogs!! at least he’s not holding her purse! I also love the verse you applied for the end of the week…very fitting!
Thank you Jenna! I had fun fun meeting this kind gentleman and taking his picture. Are you into photography? If so I hope this week was an inspiration to you to try your hand at street photography.
Yes I am into photography! right now I only have a point and shoot but I’m saving up for a DSLR. And learning new things as I go. Especially from this blog. This whole blog has been an inspiration to try new things!
Nice, Josiah! I enjoyed the theme this week and you wrapped it up well.
I have a AE-1. but I think it leeks light in through the lens by a bad seal. Otherwise I’d use it every once in a while. It and all its accessories are for sale if your interested!
