The Sixth Angle

Greetings, my name is Josiah Einwechter and I hail from the great state of Pennsylvania. Born and raised in PA, I am the sixth child of William and Linda Einwechter and am very grateful for my five great brothers, four truly beautiful sisters, the best brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and seven wonderful nieces and nephews.

I am a 20 year old servant of Christ, a homeschool graduate, and a young man who loves reading, history, music, martial arts, hunting, marksmanship, and just spending time with my friends and family, to name a few. I have had a passion for photography for the last 5 years starting out with a Canon S2, an advanced P & S, and shooting with that until my brother’s purchase of a Canon 20D in 2007, after this introduction to the world of DSLR photography I have never looked back. My first camera was a Canon 40D, a solid camera that was hard to part with after shooting a year and a half with it, I will admit, however, that upgrading to the Canon 7D, a truly great camera, was a good antidote to selling the 40D. My favorite lens is the 70-200mm f2.8 with the 50mm f1.4 a very close second. As you may have guessed from my photo, I also greatly enjoy exploring the world of flash photography with my 430 EX II.

Photography, however, is primarily a hobby, with my main area of work and study being VFX for Christian film. I am currently working with my good friends and co-workers at the recently founded Effects Forge. Our passion is to create VFX for Christ-promoting films with a level of excellence that will compete with the best the secular market has to offer as we strive to glorify God through truly excellent craftsmanship.

If you would like to see more of my work check out my photo a day blog from last year, A Photo A Day, and like my Facebook page, Josiah Einwechter Photography.

And there you have it, the team of Six-Angles.com, five skilled photographers who I am honored call my friends and to whom I am grateful for choosing to join me on this photo adventure.

In Christ,
~Josiah

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

    Nice to “meet” you, Josiah!
    I’m from Pennsylvania, too – a beautiful state, isn’t it? :)
I’m looking forward to seeing some of your work here on Six Angles!

Very cool shot, Josiah… The lighting is really neat, as is the reflection!

Josiah, this is a great idea. I’m looking forward to watch this project unfold.
Have you considered organizing an online stock photography store that would compete with stores like istock? My family owns a business, and we would like to use pro-big-family propaganda in our marketing. The stock-photo industry leaders as of yet are not interested in accommodating that need.
In fact, (if you don’t mind taking orders already) I am looking for a cover picture for a brochure right now: Big family, interacting, colorful & warm, restaurant.
We would love to support a venture like this with our orders. It could be a viable business opportunity for Christian photographers.

Well done, all of you. Enjoyed this first week enough to subscribe! Love the homepage, Josiah–the layout is great. The combo of visuals with just enough (subtle) text to get a reader started (and inspired to click away) is a perfect theme for a team photo-blog. Look forward to being inspired!

But of course, Haley! Is there any state that can compare? ;)

Thank you Lauren, I had fun taking it though I must say, doing a flash light photo like this using a self timer is a little complicated.

Thank you Jessica! Interesting, I had not thought about doing that type of thing but it may be a possibility, thank you for the suggestion and request.

Thank you Kim, I am very thankful that Emily Rose was gracious enough to provide most of the theme design work, it wouldn’t look anywhere near as nice without her. :)

Very nicely done, Josiah, though I must say it looks cold! But you know me. :-) I enjoy seeing what you come up with in photography and I’m looking forward to seeing what this year holds. Keep up the good work!

I love the picture! Look forward to seeing more of your photos this year.

Nice seeing you last weekend, even though it was brief.

Good work, Josiah. It’s nice to have the 70-200 f/2.8 working again, isn’t it? Haha, now that you’ve sold your 40D, you aren’t the two-camera guy anymore. :)
