Silhouettes at Sunrise

This morning, Joseph and I drove over to the beach to watch the sunrise and to take a few pictures for a project that I have been working on.  Interested to find out what that project is?  Click here to find out!

O give thanks unto the LORD;
for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

-Psalm 118:1

    This is SUCH a neat picture. Of course, I might be biased, since it is your beach and our ocean. ;) I’m wondering if Joseph actually got IN the cold water? ;) Great picture, Lauren!

    Incredible shot, Lauren! The silhouettes of the birds are particularly good and the sun’s placement is very nice.

    I have to admit though, when I saw the small version on the home page I immediately thought of a scene in Indiana Jones: the Last Crusade… :)

    This shot moves me because it captures elements that I love:

    1. It is OUR beach! Coquina!
    2. I love surfing. Dancing on the ocean.
    3. I love birds. Consider the sparrows.
    4. I love color. Lavender segues into orange ? (yes, in God’s palette)
    5. I love waves. Continuous since creation of the world.
    6. I love that Lauren & Joseph sacrificed sleep to catch
    a new day on the rise.
    Look carefully & see the mercies new.

    This is a great shot! I love how both the birds and Joseph are silhouetted, while there’s still enough light for a bit of detail.
